SC East Bengal is reportedly close to announce the arrival of Aridai Cabrera from Odisha FC ahead of the 2022-23 season.
The Indian Super League club was said to be in talks with the player with a pre-contract already sent to him.
As reported by a source to Khel Now, “Talks with Aridai Cabrera are in the advanced stages. The club has sent him the pre-contract.”
Cabrera joined Odisha FC in 2021, making 17 appearances for the club, scoring five goals and coming up with important performances for them throughout the season.
East Bengal were seen lacking in the number of creative players in their squad last season, however, they are looking to rectify that situation, especially with them parting ways with their former investors Shree Cement Ltd.
Up till now, the club has signed players like Mohammad Rakip and Ivan Gonzalez along with an array of Indian youngsters and continue to negotiate with many others in order to bolster their squad for next season.
Cabrera has played a total of 420 games in his long career, scoring 86 goals and handing out 13 assists to his teammates over the years.
East Bengal meanwhile, will look to complete this transfer as soon as possible as they plan ahead to what is going to be a defining Indian Super League 2022-23 season for them this year.
