Celtic reclaim Scottish Premiership crown with Dundee United draw – XenBet

A point against Dundee United was enough for Celtic to reclaim their Scottish Premiership crown from Old Firm rivals Rangers on Wednesday night.

Gers thumped Ross County at Ibrox but it wasn’t enough to retain the title as Celtic move four points clear of them at the summit with just one game left to play.

This is the Hoops’ tenth title in 11 seasons after their arch rivals famously denied them a tenth in a row last season.

Ange Postecoglou’s side had trailed Rangers by six points at Christmas, but an incredibly uptick in form has seen them go a ridiculous 31 games unbeaten in the weeks and months since.

The Bhoys finished 25 points behind their Glasgow foes last season before Postecoglou was installed in the dugout and oversaw a squad overhaul.

The key moment on Wednesday night was provided by Giorgos Giakoumakis, who rose to head home a fine cross from Anthony Ralston eight minutes into the second period and sent the away fans into raptures.

Celtic only needed a point but were on course for all three, and they allowed some sloppiness to creep into their game. After United had his the woodwork twice the hosts eventually found an equaliser through Manchester United loanee Dylan Levitt.

The 21-year-old took aim from 25 yards and pinged an unstoppable effort into the back of the net.

Both sides had chances to win it, but ultimately Celtic secured the point required to reclaim their Scottish Premiership crown.
