Charlotte FC complete Andre Shinyashiki trade from Colorado Rapids – XenBet

Charlotte FC have completed the signing of forward Andre Shinyashiki from the Colorado Rapids.

The Rapids will receive a guaranteed $225k in General Allocation Money (GAM) in 2022 for the trade, with a further $175k payable if certain performance targets are met. Colorado also maintain 50% of any fee Charlotte receives for a future trade of Shinyashiki’s rights.

The Brazilian forward joined the Rapids via the MLS SuperDraft in 2019 and won the league’s Rookie of the Year award that season, scoring seven goals in 31 regular-season appearances. Chances have been a little harder to come by since then, though Shinyashiki remained a valued member of Robin Fraser’s roster.

“Andre has been at the heart of our club’s development on the pitch over the last few seasons, while also serving as a model representative off it,” Colorado executive vice president and general manager Pádraig Smith said in a club press release. “We’re grateful to him for his contributions to the club and wish him all the best in this next stage of his career.”

Shinyashiki will provide depth and competition right across Charlotte’s forward line, able to operate on the flanks or through the middle.

Polish DP striker Karol Swiderski has been the Crown’s main attacking threat so far this season, scoring four goals in nine MLS appearances. The likes of Ben Bender and Daniel Rios have also shown flashes of quality, though there’s no doubt Shinyashiki’s addition will help Miguel Angel Ramirez’s side become a more fluid and consistent attacking unit.

Though they’re winless in their last three MLS matches, Charlotte are enjoying a promising expansion year, sitting 10th in the East after 10 matches, just a single point adrift of the Playoff spots.
