Mesut Ozil calls out India on social media for alleged violence against Muslims in the country – XenBet

Former Real Madrid and Arsenal star, Mesut Ozil has hit out at the government of India due to the alleged violence against Muslims in India, with the footballing superstar hitting out at them on social media.

Ozil who won the 2014 World Cup and was one of the finest playmakers in the world during his peak, took to social networking site, Twitter to call out the world’s largest democracy for not condemning the alleged violence against Muslims during the ongoing Eid celebrations.

“Praying during the holy night of Lailat al-Qadr for the safety and well-being of our Muslim brothers and sisters in India. Let’s spread awareness to this shameful situation! What is happening to the human rights in the so-called largest democracy in the world?#BreakTheSilence,” his tweet read.

The 33-year-old is known for actively calling out governments around the world for not stopping human rights abuses in the past, and he had previously done so for the Uighur Muslims in China. His outspoken statements have been reacted to heavily with several public calls to drop him from the German national team and his former club, Arsenal.

The superstar had recently urged his followers to pray for world peace in another post on social media.
